Thistles Drop Game In Dauphin

The Kenora Thistles dropped a 5-3 decision to the Parkland Rangers Saturday night in Dauphin, MB.

Cole Bodnar opened up the scoring with his second of the season (from Cayson Lambert and James Bichon). After Cash Clarkson scored two straight goals for the Rangers, Bo Gartzke was credited with his third of the season to tie the game at two.

The only goal of the second period was scored short-handed by Hayden Seib. After the goal, Morgan Blackwood was replaced by James Hill in the net. Blackwood finished with 15 saves on 18 shots.

Carter Peters picked up his third of the season (from Callum McCormick and Bichon) in the third period to bring his team even. That’s as close as the Thistles would come, as Parkland beat Hill twice.

Hill finished the night with 16 saves.

Game two of the weekend series goes Sunday afternoon at 1:30pm CST.
