Thistles, Bruins Set For Rematch

For the second time this season, the Kenora Thistles will take on the Winnipeg Bruins.

The first meeting of the season came back on September 29th, with the Bruins taking the game 3-2 in the shootout. Jack Noel and Cole Bodnar scored for Kenora, with Cayson Lambert assisting on both goals and Reidar Paquette picking up a helper on Bodnar’s tally. James Hill was between the pipes, and made 38 saves.

Since that game, the Bruins have gone 6-4-2, while the Thistles are 1-10-1.

Carson White, a Steinbach Pistons prospect, leads Winnipeg in points (11) and goals (seven). Brock Assailly leads the team in assists with nine.

For Kenora, it’s Lambert who leads all players with eight points (two goals, six assists). Bodnar and Carter Peters are tied for the team in goals with five each, while Lambert, Callum McCormick and James Bichon are all tied with six assists.

Wednesdays game is set to take place at the Southdale Community Centre with puck drop at 6:45pm CST. The game will be broadcast live on FloHockey.
